Front Line Assembly has gone through a slight change since their 2001 release, “Epitaph.” Chris Peterson left FLA, and original member, Rhys Fulber returned to work once again with Bill Leeb. The results of the “re-changing of the guard” can be seen in FLA's newest single, “Maniacal.” Dark, futuristic, and melodic, the single's impact that it will have on the world of electronic music cannot be placed into words. It is something that one must experience for themselves. Once again, FLA has raised the bar for the rest to catch up to.
Response Frequency is a perfect capture of the early industrial wave, partly because the guys behind it were also associated with acts like Front Line Assembly or Fear Factory (5 years after this, Rhys Fulber delivered us Demanufacture, the magnum opus of industrial metal). It's very synth heavy and has that conveyor belt structure where it goes through different phases of instrument layers.
Maintaining their industrial/industrial dance/EBM 'street cred' while tapping into the 90s underground dance/rave culture, Stategy of Violence is one of Noise Unit's accessible but complex releases. I remember purchasing this CD back in 1992! It was great then as it is great now! RONIN KILGANNON feat. INTERLOPER
